Adfam is a national charity dedicated to helping families that suffer from drug and alcohol abuse issues. At Adfam we want anyone affected by a family members addiction to drugs or alcohol to be able to benefit from healthy relationships as well as feel part of a loving and supportive family whilst enjoying mental and physical wellbeing.
Alcohol and drug abuse can endanger and eventually ruin family relations and harmony.
We support frontline workers and influence decision-makers to stop this happening and also we empower family member and careers.
What We Value
We listen to frontline workers and families People who have experienced these type of problems most likely can provide some solutions. We get informed by our supporters: with the help of sympathy and confirmation we advice, engage, and help both the individuals who are influenced by a friend or family member's drug abuse and those who support them. We develop abilities, resources, trust and pathways so both groups can assist themselves, their friends, clients and communities.
We Are Inspired By What Works
Substance abuse has a diverse and intense effect on family relations and happiness. We focus on things that give results in reality and we do our work seriously and carefully. To achieve this, we never underestimate the value of real-life experience as well as formal research evidence and we also embrace evidence in all diversity. Our work is driven by our supporters, colleagues, friends and what they see.
We're Not Kidding About Our Main Goal
We are dedicated to providing the work of the best standard as we are serious about our job and partnerships. We promise to treat families and individuals affected by drugs and alcohol with dignity and respect because we know that stigma and prejudice are barriers to recovery and can cause harm.
